Should be fitted with a mortice deadlock of at least five levers or rim deadlock conforming to British Standard BS 3621. If Aluminum/UPVC construction then fitted with a multi-point locking system which incorporates a lever or cylinder deadlock, capable of being secured by a key from both sides.

All windows, fanlights and roof lights that can be accessed without the use of a ladder, and that can be opened, should be fitted with key-operated window locks.
